Registration and Tuition: Important Points

Qualification for Registration

Those who meet the qualification below are eligible for registration.

  1. Those who have received a high-school education
  2. Those who have obtained at least N4 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) (Results from tests like J.TEST and NAT-TEST are also accepted.)
    In addition, those having studied in a Japanese language school in one's own country for at least 180 hours are eligible for registration.
  3. Those who meet the requirements for residing in Japan
  4. Those who themselves have not resided illegally in Japan and those who do not have family who have resided illegally in Japan.

Please pay special attention to qualification 3 and 4.

Required Documents

From the Applicant

Requirements differ among countries.
Please direct questions to the applicant’s home government or please contact us.

  1. A copy of the applicant’s most recent diploma (a high school, college, or university diploma)
  2. A copy of the applicant’s passport
  3. Seven (7) pictures 40 x 30 mm (taken within the last six months)
  4. The DBC Application Form, the DBC Resume/CV Page 1 and 2. (DBC provides these blank forms here.)
  5. Proof of the applicant’s present address (including three utility bills from the last six months, the most recent tax documentation, or a copy of a rent book showing the last six months of payment)
  6. A copy of the applicant’s bank statements for the past six months
  7. For students with financial supporters like family, please submit the DBC Agreement of Financial Support Form. (DBC provides this blank form here.)
  8. For self-supporting applicant’s, please submit the following documentation:
    copies of the applicant's income/wage slips for the last six month,
    the applicant's most recent income tax documentation, and
    the applicant's employment documentation indicating the place of work, position, and duration of service.
Guarantor

Please submit documents that show the guarantor has the capacity to cover the expenses of the applicant. This documents include the following:

  1. The Agreement of Financial Support (DBC provides this blank form here.)
  2. The guarantor's employment documentation indicating the place of work, position, and duration of service
  3. A copy of the Guarantor’s bank statements for the past six months,
    copies of the applicant’s income/wage slips for the last six months, and
    the applicant’s most recent income tax documentation
